Where is my collection actually stored?
Everything you add — wineries, tasting notes, ratings, label photos, and where each bottle sits on your wall — is stored in the private iCloud database tied to your own Apple ID. Home Wine Cellar doesn't operate its own servers and never sees your collection.
Why don't I see my wines on my other iPhone or iPad?
Make sure both devices are signed into the same Apple ID and that iCloud Drive is turned on in Settings → [your name] → iCloud. Sync can take a minute or two, especially the first time or over a slow connection.
How does CSV import work?
Export a CSV from Numbers, Excel, Google Sheets, or another wine app. The first row must be a header row naming each column, and each bottle gets its own row — two bottles of the same wine are just two rows, grouped automatically. Wrap any value containing a comma in double quotes. Files are read as UTF-8 or Latin-1. Once you choose a file, you'll map its columns and preview the full import before anything is added to your cellar.
What does the AI food pairing feature do, and does it need the internet?
Food pairing suggestions are generated on-device using Apple Intelligence. Your collection isn't sent to us or to Apple to produce a suggestion. This feature requires a device and iOS version that supports Apple Intelligence.
What's the difference between "available" and "finished" bottles?
Available bottles are still resting in your cellar. When you open one, move it to Finished and log the date and rating — your bottle count and wall position update automatically.
How do I delete a wine or my whole collection?
Delete an individual wine from its detail screen using the trash icon. Because your data lives in your iCloud account, removing it in the app removes it from iCloud as well. To stop syncing altogether, turn off Home Wine Cellar under Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
I found a bug, or I have an idea for a feature.
We'd like to hear it either way. Email us at homewinecellar@cedarstudio.com with as much detail as you can — a screenshot and the steps you took help the most.
